I was a mom before I was an SLP. I remember I used to drill my oldest daughter with flashcards, desperately trying to get her to learn new words. It was boring for her and exhausting for me.
After becoming an SLP I had 3 more daughters. And letβs say things went way differently. By the age of 2, all three of them were using 6 word sentences to communicate. People were blown away and I never had to touch a flashcard. (Thank goodness!)
